Just days after the U.S. Supreme Court struck down the CDC’s nationwide eviction moratorium, we’re hearing about a push in both the Pennsylvania House and Senate to potentially extend it.

Three House Democrats, including two from Philadelphia, will introduce new legislation to keep tenants in their rental units by requiring landlords to jump through more hoops before evicting.

Meanwhile, some state Democratic Senators are also looking to extend the moratorium.

Landlords, of course, continue to take a financial beating, and a letter from the Pennsylvania Apartment Association to PA Supreme Court Chief Justice Max Baer explains why any attempt to extend the moratorium would be disastrous not only to landlords but to the diminishing supply of affordable housing across the state.
