PROA Report: Maintenance Code Report
A new report on municipal property maintenance code enforcement, commissioned by Senator Dave Argall for the Statewide Blight Task Force, reveals widespread challenges with negligent property owners, inconsistent code expectations, and insufficient municipal capacity to combat blight, despite most municipalities reporting low to moderate blight levels.
Renting to Refugees
On behalf of Philadelphia’s Refugee Resettlement agencies, HIAS Pennsylvania and Nationalities Service Center, and the City of Philadelphia’s Office of Immigrant Affairs, we would like to invite you to join a coalition of local landlords and property management groups supporting the city’s refugee resettlement programs. On Tuesday, June 11th from 6-7:30pm, we would like to invite you and your partners to attend, Renting to Refugees, to learn more about and show their commitment to renting to diverse newcomers in our region. The event will take place at city hall, but streaming will also be available on the Office of Immigrant Affairs Facebook page.
Why rent to refugees? Working with Philadelphia’s Refugee Resettlement agencies as a landlord partner you will virtually eliminate the risk of property vacancies and will have tenants that are responsible and family oriented, cleared by rigorous background checks, immediately eligible to work.
