WATCH: Learn How Philly Rental Owners Can Help Solve The Affordable Housing Crisis

Hapco Philadelphia has teamed up with the Philadelphia Housing Authority for a webinar to get more rental property owners involved in the city’s Housing Choice Voucher Program.

The federal government has given PHA 900 new vouchers to help low-income families find affordable rental housing.  And the PHA wants more Hapco Philadelphia landlords to register for the HCV program

The webinar explore the value of being an HCV landlord, including incentives like signing bonuses, inspection self-certification, and a new, streamlined online owners portal.

Hapco Philadelphia has been a longtime partner in PHA’s emergency voucher program and urges its members to register.

Landlord-Tenant Battle Raises New Issue For Rental Property Owners

When a landlord sells a property housing renters, it’s mostly a straightforward transaction.

But this West Philly case raises some unusual issues for landlords.

And Hapco Philadelphia asks whether cases like this mean rental property owners could be on the hook for a tenant’s moving expenses.

Millions In Federal Dollars Give PA Budget Surplus, But No Money for Landlords & Tenants!

Hapco Philadelphia has been lobbying lawmakers in city hall, Harrisburg, and Congress that more money is needed to help landlords and their tenants catch up on back rent from the eviction moratorium.

Pandemic rent relief funding in Philadelphia ran out last year, leaving landlords owed tens of thousands of dollars.

And now, we learn that Governor Tom Wolf is using a budget surplus from millions of dollars in federal pandemic relief for everything except landlords and tenants!

Philadelphia has a nationally recognized infrastructure created for the PHL Rent Assist program, and Hapco Philadelphia urges Harrisburg lawmakers to use PA’s budget surplus to make landlords whole again!

When It Comes To Heat, Landlords & Tenants Have To Communicate

And Hapco Philadelphia says not just for heating issues in rental properties, but for everything.

Winter is when older boilers break down and service reps are usually swamped with calls.

Hapco Philadelphia has always advocated communication, education, and mediation between landlords and renters.

If renters have a heat issue, tell your rental property owner immediately.  And landlords, make sure you email, text, or call tenants when something break and repairs might be needed.

That way, you don’t end up being profiled in the media like this owner!

New Survey Says This Is What Philly Renters Want In Apartments

Potential tenants are very specific about what they’re looking for when they go apartment shopping.

And they’re willing to pay for it.

A new survey out from the National Multifamily Housing Council, a rental industry lobby group in Washington, D.C. , finds with so much new rental construction, renters are pretty picky about the extras they want.
