About this Event:
In partnership with the Housing Alliance of Pennsylvania and the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia, the South Central Assembly is offering the next session in its Pandemic Response Series, virtual meetings to help community agencies and the region respond to urgent housing and community development needs. It is open to attendees from across the state because of the strong interest and speakers confirmed for this session. This is the third in a set of virtual meetings on Emergency Housing Needs facing our communities.
Topics include but are not be limited to:
- Eviction Prevention (Part I)
- The State of the Region’s Rental Housing Market (Part II)
- Finding More Units for Affordable Rental Housing
- Housing the Homeless in the Pandemic, and
- Emergency Housing Needs Part III – Emergency Rental Assistance Program Update- March 10, 2021 10:00 – 11:30 am
This session will focus on the new federal Emergency Rental Assistance Program authorized by Congress in December 2020 and set to open up in March 2021. This session will include important information about how Pennsylvania’s program, administered though the Department of Human Services, will be implemented. It will also have presentations from two counties in the South Central region that are receiving direct allocations for this program. These counties will share their plans to operate the program.

This is an opportunity to learn what others are doing, and to collaborate and coordinate activities. Attendees are encouraged to ask questions of the panel, and to share their thoughts on Emergency Housing Needs facing our communities.
These sessions are intended for housing and redevelopment organizations, human service agencies, local governments, landlords and other individuals and organizations involved in providing emergency housing assistance during the Pandemic. The goal of these sessions is to share an understanding of what’s happening and best practices in the region.
