Proposed Bill Would Extend Philly Eviction Diversion Program into 2024
It was no surprise to Hapco Philadelphia when Councilmember Helen Gym introduced a bill that would extend the city’s Eviction Diversion Program into 2024.
The EDP was technically a pilot program but few thought it would end when the law expires December 31st.
The program currently requires rental owners and tenants to meet with a mediator prior to any eviction filing.
Under Gym’s proposed extension, rental owners would have to wait 30 days before taking any legal action.
