Hapco Philadelphia has been asked by the City’s Planning and Development Department to let HP members know about this Philly property tax rebate program.
If your property valuation increased by more than 50% in 2022 or 2023, you could be eligible to apply for a tax rebate.
The City’s Real Estate Tax Credit Program explains below who’s eligible and how to apply.

Attention Philadelphia Rental and Investment Property Owners and Homeowners:
Was your latest real estate tax bill more than you anticipated? Philadelphia homeowners can receive up to $500 to help with increasing real estate tax bills through the City of Philadelphia Real Estate Tax Credit Program.
Who should apply?
Homeowners within the City of Philadelphia who have experienced an increase in their real estate tax bill.
What are the eligibility requirements?
- Live within the City of Philadelphia;
- Be the legal owner of the property;
- Property tax bill has increased by 50% or more between the 2022 and 2023 tax assessments; and
- Household income must be at or below 80% Area Median Income (AMI).
The selection process will consist of an initial screening of applications based on eligibility, followed by a random selection of eligible applicants through a lottery system.
