Rental property owners in New Jersey now have even fewer ways to control who is renting their apartments. And they’re being prosecuted over it.
The Attorney General’s office there is now citing rental owners who violate the so-called Fair Chance in Housing Act passed by lawmakers in 2021.
It’s the first law if its kind in the country and Hapco Philadelphia is pushing to make sure a similar law is not passed in Pennsylvania.
