The Pennsylvania House Finance Agency has released its final summary on its administration of CARES financial assistance for renters. The State of Pennsylvania was given $3.9 billion through the federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act. The Pennsylvania General Assembly directed at least $150 million for rent assistance. Funding for renters had to be completely distributed by Nov. 30, 2020.
Data shows that more than $121.6 million was sought and $54.4 million was expended. A total of 16,515 households were served, and 10,020 landlords were assisted.
