Legal Action Fund
HAPCO is currently supporting a lawsuit filed against members of the Philadelphia City Council Housing Committee for violations of Pennsylvania’s Sunshine Act — the state law that requires government bodies to conduct public business openly and transparently. This lawsuit seeks to hold elected officials accountable for how they conducted proceedings related to Bills 250329 and 250330, which threaten to impose significant financial liability on housing providers and fundamentally alter property rights in Philadelphia.
Legal efforts of this scale require sustained financial commitment from our community. Contributions to the Legal Action Fund help cover attorney costs, court expenses, and the broader advocacy work needed to defend housing providers against harmful legislation — both today and in future fights ahead.
Every contribution strengthens our ability to act quickly, advocate effectively, and protect the housing providers and communities that depend on a fair and transparent system.
